We just moved into a new house. It’s an older one with good copper piping. We have two showers. One upstairs and one down. We’ve been noticing that the one upstairs doesn’t hold the hot water very long. It will start out nice, but over the course of 10 mins it goes cold. Our downstairs shower is a bit better as it is new but if we ever tried to shower at the same time we would be in some trouble.

The easy answer I’m guessing is that we need a new hot water heater. However, I’m looking for other suggestions.

I”m told I should flush out the tank first to clean out the sediment.
I’m told to check the rod inside the tank to see if it is working properly.

Could it be a bigger problem with the pipes?

Installation is on an existing 5 acre perimeter fence made of 48″ graduated screen attached to standard T-Posts. The plan is to use the normal grounding rods ground system but then attach the fence itself to the ground system. I would then run a separate hot wire which would be insulated from the fence itself via T-Post insulators.
The ground is very dry, rocky red dirt with lots of clay which may require additional ground rods along the fence. Any replies are greatly appreciated. Thank You.
